Description

Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Marketplace (com_marketplace) component 1.2 for Joomla! allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the catid parameter in a show_category action to index.php.

The Joomla! 'com_marketplace' component is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input.

An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

This issue affects com_marketplace 1.2; other versions may also be affected.
